Exploring Ocean Iron Solutions for Marine CDR: An Information Event

The Exploring Ocean Iron Solutions (ExOIS) consortium strives to transparently and ethically advance research and our understanding on the potential of ocean iron fertilization as an effective and acceptable method of marine CDR. The first 5 year phase of this international program is planned to begin in 2026 with large scale experiments in the eastern subarctic Pacific. These experiments are intended to quantify the export and durability of carbon to the deep ocean, and to assess the ecological and societal impacts arising from any long-term implementation. The ExOIS program office invites you to an informal information event on Wednesday, Oct 30 to hear from ExOIS members about the program’s mission and objectives, and to become familiar with our proposed activities. As the ExOIS program evolves, opportunities to engage and collaborate with the program will be announced, so this event is intended to prime the PICES community for these announcements.
The event will be held immediately following the close of Wednesday’s afternoon topic sessions. Light refreshments will be provided. Space will be limited to 50, so if you would like to attend please REGISTER EARLY HERE. We will then notify you if you have a space closer to the meeting. |
